Some hits and a miss

Lets start with the happy moment! Tom helped me hang the Tachi Machi quilt this weekend. This was a BOM using Japanese taupe fabric. Four blocks a month. Some of these fabrics are loosely woven and are challenging for piecing and appliqué. I hand quilted and bound each block before sewing together.

In retrospect I think I would have used the quilt as you go method. This one was a lot of work.

I received my new Fig Tree BOM and did the first few blocks. The sawtooth pinwheel did not come out well and I will retry at the end if I have enough fabric left. Working with bias triangles. :(

Still winter and Kelsey likes to be comfy on the couch.
